My G.G. Grandparents were the school master and mistress at the school from c.1861 till they retired sometime before 1901. All their children, including my G. Grandmother Elizabeth Naomi Budden (1868)were born here. My G. G. Grandparents were, James Pitt Budden b.1836, Chichester and Rhoda Russell Robertson b.1842, Rye. Rhoda's father was John Robertson, a master mariner who lived in Custom House Street in Rye. John's brother was Lynsey Robertson, the lighthouse keeper, who I see is mentioned in the comments relating to the picture of the lighthouse. My G. Grandmother Elizabeth became a nurse in an asylum in Salisbury, her brother John became a highways inspector and fire chief in Chichester. Brothers Harry and Archibald became policemen and sister Louisa became a teacher.
