No Rye Harbour Village yet, but the "new" harbour completed by Smeaton (at what is now Winchelsea Beach) is shown. Winchelsea Castle is shown, now known as Camber Castle.

Smeaton's pier was a disaster here, but in my home town of Cromarty the harbour he designed is still in good nick 220 years later - it's history can be seen here and picures of it over the years are to be found here.
