Bill Head

He was my Great Uncle, his sister, Kathleen was my Grandmother. I have many memories, and many photos. I also have a 'new ' British Army side hat that a German lady made him at the end of the war before he came home. While waiting, he stayed with a German family and would help out on the farm.

I'm sure Bill Head used to work for the Kent River Board at the same time I was there. He worked at the Scot's Float Depot on Military Road in Rye and he used to be in charge of the fuel dispensing. Always tranquil and softly spoken, he rode his push bike from Rye Harbour every day to Scot's Float. A lovely man.
