Blockhouse or Pillboxes

Built overlooking the shore in 1940's to defend against invasion.
Picture Added on 17 March 2006.

Comments

These were Pillboxes built at the beginning of WWII as a harbour defence. The white building in the background is the RYE GC clubhouse, which was nearly blown over and destroyed by a Buzzbomb which landed and exploded just below the bank infront of it.
Added by Michael J. Doust on 21 February 2007.
