River Barge

A Rye River Barge working at Rye Harbour. Behind the Barge, and to the right, look's like a Paddle Steamer. To the right is the old light house on the opposite bank to the village. To the left there is a row of rail trucks waiting at the pierhead close to the William the Conqueror pub.
Picture Added on 01 December 2008.

Comments

Alsford's wharf was originally called the Railway quay. The steamer looks very similar to the "Seagull", which was scrapped in 1896.
