Albert Dowding family

The man is Albert Dowding aged 41 with his wife Jane aged 37.
The photo was taken at Ecclesbourne Coastguard station, before they moved to Rye Harbour - from the 1901 census he lived at No 5 Coastguard cottages (Coastguard Square).

My great-grandfather, George Johns, was a coastguard in Rye in 1901. His wife was Mabel (nee Martin). Perhaps they worked together?
