Does this booklet cover the coastguards of this area please? Reply... only a very few references to coastguards in Michael Alford's introduction - most is about people's memories of the area.

Does this book mention the harbourmasters?My grandmother's uncle was reputedly in that post, probably in late 1860's or 1870's. Her maiden name was Gourlay or Gorley, born 1866. Apparently he raised the girls don't know why.
Would be good to know about him
