I do not recognise the photograph but 'Gunner' and Tom Mills were my Uncles. Brothers of Marjorie Mills, married to George Stoker from Sunderland. I have very very fond memories of holidays at 3 Gordon Place in Rye Harbour and Bill Head complaining about my heavy footsteps as I hurtled upstairs.
Added by Jean Bell nee Stoker on 21 August 2008.
Was 'Gunner' also known as Arthur? My Mother had a cousin called Arthur I think at Rye Harbour?
Added by M Thompson on 01 January 2015.
Gunners full name was David Arthur Mills, he was known as Arthur rather than David by those outside the family, He was the 2nd son of Alexander Reid Mills known as Alec or Pop Mills, and Annie Mills. Older Brother Thomas nick name flickers when a child, his sister were Christine, Olive- known as Dash, and Marjorie . My mum was Olive she married Bertram Kell at the Harbour in January 1945, Dad had been stationed at RH prior to D day with the Wiltshire regiment.
Added by Ruth Fivash ( nee Kell) on 30 December 2017.
