Bridget Rees at Summer Studio

Postcard sent by Bridget Rees (?) showing her at work at the old railway carriage along the point in Rye Harbour, apparently used in the 1930's as an artists studio.
Picture Added on 19 May 2006.

Comments

This lady's name was Bridget Keir - not Rees. Information received from Alan Haffenden. She was always known as "Madame Keir".

Alan recalls that she used to pay young boys to dispose of little parcels in the river - they wondered why - One day they looked in a parcel - They didn't look again. Madame Keir had no mains drainage!
